Teresa Mitchell

Teresa Mitchell, Secretary: Teresa comes to the YES board with an array of experience in community outreach, public service, and records are information management. She utilized her passion for improving her community by empowering the youth of our city to grow, learn, and become the best version of themselves they can. Her education and volunteer work in Lubbock, Irving, and Dallas have given her the knowledge and experience needed to foster a sense of self-worth and motivation for more in young minds. Her professional life lends itself to enabling her to bring professional boards experience and a passion for preserving the history of YES. Teresa has worked as a public servant at the local government level as the Deputy City Secretary in Lubbock and the Assistant to the City Secretary in Irving. These experiences have helped shape her to serve as the board Secretary for YES. Her current role as Records and Information Supervisor for Mary Kay, Inc. has equipped her to preserve and protect the history of our organization's board proceedings.

Where you went to school and grew up, hobbies, etc.: Teresa graduated from Texas Tech with a bachelor's degree in Community, Family, and Addiction Services. She went on to graduate from Lubbock Christian University with a Master's Degree in Human Services Administration. Furthermore, Teresa hold a Certified Records Analyst certification from the Institute of Certified Records Managers. Teresa also serves as a board member for Team HOPE in Irving and she is an active member of the Association of Records Management Administrators.

When she isn't researching the latest trends in records and information management or the latest adolescent dilemmas facing our youth, she can be found photographing friend's weddings, graduations, baby showers, and kids.
