Demerius Smith

Demerius Smith, Director Of Operations: Responsible for assisting in the management of the day-to-day operations of the programs and assisting the Executive Director of the organization in developing, implementing and maintaining the policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization meeting planning and execution, amongst other things.

With a background in sports & athletics, Smith has continuously operated with a team first mentality while pursuing the overall goal. Understanding the vital role that each member plays is critical to the essential duties, task, achievements & functions of the organization. Smith believes that the obstacles and issues facing our children and youth of today must be matched with the same vigor and ferocity to see them overcome, succeed, and become productive members of their communities and our society. Smith has a plethora of knowledge and experience ranging from Entrepreneurship, Teaching, Coaching, Outreach, Development, and Management. He has served in several leadership positions and brings that experience and innovativeness to his role here at YES.

Smith was born and raised in Alexandria, La. He currently resides in Arlington, Tx. He and His wife Jalie Morris-Smith have one child, Elias Smith. He attended Kennedy King College in Chicago, Il, where he graduated with an AA in General Studies, before transferring to Tarleton State University, in Stephenville, TX, where he majored in Kinesiology. Smith’s hobbies include: spending time with his son, Traveling, attending sporting events, cooking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
